It's a No Go...

I was afraid I was going to jinx it! Yesterday morning Elaina spiked a high fever and her heart rate went up into the 200's! Nothing that we did seemed to help. Poor baby whimpered and cried most of the day. We tried giving her a cool bath, we put cold packs under her, I rocked her incessantly...nothing seemed to make her more comfortable. She's continued to have a rough night, and her heart rate is still quite elevated this morning. So, we're not sure what is going on, or when we'll be going home. Monday is being tossed around, but that's only if we get her fever and heart rate figured out.
I will post more later once we know more about what's going on....

DANG IT!!! Oh, I was so hopeful that today you would get her home. I am sure you are extremely disappointed and frustrated but at the same time you want her to be where she will get the best help. I pray that this fever issue passes quickly and it was just a small bump . .so when you get her home it won't be a repeart.
I will call you later to make arrangement to help you finish those organization tasks you want to get done.
Heart Hugs,
Carolyn

Oh, I know how that feels to think you are going home and then you don't. But soon you will be home. Oh what a sweet day that will be!! I am praying for her fever to break and her heart rate to go back down to normal.

I wonder if she's detoxing from all those meds she's been on for so long. Poor little lamb. :( Hang in there!

Those unknown fevers always seem to creep up in the hospitals. Tell them to start more antibiotics, keep her on motrin & tylenoyl around the clock...and I agree with the withdrawal idea...have they given her methadone and ativan to wein her???
Isaac had bad withdrawals (just check her pupils..if they are big, ask about it)
and...there's nothing wrong with a Monday discharge...she can just relax over the weekend!
lots of love,
