Good Morning!

Elaina had a pretty good night last night!! Dr Hawkins (surgeon) said that he is pleased with her progress and is going to close her chest this morning. Her lungs are also sounding a little bit better this morning. Her chest x-ray doesn't really look any better, but the Respiratory Therapist said that she is hearing better breath sounds. She also told me that once Elaina's chest is closed she can do a little better suctioning to try and clear up some of these secretions.

Words just cannot express my gratitude for the prayers that have been offered in our behalf. Elaina was not given the best prognosis after her last surgery, and her life is truly a miracle.
Thank you all so much!

I will post again later. I've been told that we will probably have a day or so of setbacks after her chest is closed. Although she's stable, she is still very weak and she doesn't have a lot (if any at all) of reserve energy.

Love,
Hollie

Yes...tell them to CLOSE HER UP, and get that junk out of her chest...
then, they can get that tube out and you'll be able to hold her soon!!!

Is she still on TPN?? Watch them with that stuff, it's not good for their livers...tell them your baby needs her milk!!!

Still sending prayers your way!

Awesome that they are closing her chest! I know one of the first things I always do with Vaeh after surgery is to put my hand on her chest to feel her heart beating & say a little prayer of thanks! (She's been luck to never have needed to be left open!) Next step - hold her in your arms! That's one of the best feelings in the world! Hopefully it won't be too much longer. Still praying that she flourishes after that little chest is closed!

XOXOXOXO

Just checking and happy to see that Elaina has made so much progress. Glad to hear that her chest is getting closed. That's a tough thing to look at when it's open!!

Colin had fevers forever and no one ever knew why. He still gets them on and off. It is so strange. Hang in there!! Praying for no more setbacks and healing!!
