We're back!

It was a wonderful weekend.

I got some much needed rest, relaxation and fun outside of the hospital.

Ben had a blast -

and we avoided getting sunburned.

(watch out girls, shark's gonna get ya!)

The weather started out great, lots of sunshine with a cool breeze by the water, but by the end of the weekend it was rainy and storming.

(is this guy happy or what?)

We enjoyed the cabin and played games and made some great family memories.

(My niece Maddie, nephew Cameron, Ben and brother's in law John and Craig playing a game outside on the deck before the weather turned on us!)

(My niece Kate playing a game inside)

My Mom and Dad bought into the cabin (shared with 3 other families) just this summer. They live in Nebraska and will be moving back to Utah when they retire next spring. Since they weren't able to be here for our first official weekend, my sisters and I (and our families) did our best to "break in" our new family retreat. It was great, hopefully we started some fun traditions as well!

Elaina had a good weekend. NO FEVERS until I got back today! What the?????? Anyway, they started her on her antibiotics today, and we have a care conference planned for Friday. Dr Murphy from South Davis will be in attendance and we will be making some decisions as to Elaina's future care at that time. I missed her like crazy over the weekend and it felt SO GOOD to hold, snuggle and catch up on kisses today. I think she missed me too. She was asleep when I first walked into the room, but as soon as she heard my voice she woke up and got fussy until I was able to pick her up (I had to wash my hands first...) and give her some long overdue smooches! Mmmm, she's fun to kiss!

Just snoozin'....
(the stupid thing between her eyes is to protect her skin from the c-pap)

Not too much else to report, I'm exhausted from my day today.... Sometimes vacation (all the packing and unpacking) is a lot of work!!!! Well worth it though! I'm ready to face the next leg of this journey!
Hugs,
Hollie, Ben and Elaina

I'm so glad you guys had a good time on your mini vacation.

I've been anxiously awaiting your post to hear how Miss Elaina was doing. She looks so peaceful in that picture. I can't believe she went all weekend without a fever and the second your back she spikes again. Silly girl.

I hope this meeting goes well with all the doctors and you can get an idea of what the future plan will be. I checked out the website for South Davis and it looks really nice. I hope you guys can transition over there.

Well, I'm happy your home and will start looking for your updates. You know it just kills me when I can't check on Elaina. She is apart of my daily routine you know. I just wish I could go over there and love on her.

Giver her some love from me!

Welcome back! Wow, that view is beautiful. I'm so happy you were able to get away for some much-needed non-hospital time. I'm sure it was much-needed for Ben, too.

I'm glad to hear everything is going ok with Elaina. I just picture the insides of her little body working so hard to heal up in that pic of her. This rest and healing time is good for her.

We'll be praying about the care conference and hopefully some positive things will come out of that. Give that sweet face a few smooches for me. xoxoxo

So glad you had a nice time. Both you and Ben are very deserving of it.
We'll keep praying little Miss Elaina continous well (no more fevers!) and for positive things to come from your conference.

Hollie,

I am so glad I got to meet you and sweet Elaina last week. Thank you for introducing me to other heart moms - I loved meeting everyone.

I am so happy that you had fun on your little getaway. You deserved to get away for a little while. Hopefully this week will go well for you and Elaina - what is up with the fevers returning when you get back? We will keep Elaina in our prayers that she will be able to return home soon - because home is the best place!!

Good luck!

Hollie,
I am so glad you took a few days for yourself!!! Nobody deserves it more then you do!! I haven't seen you forever and I am always wondering how Elaina is doing. We need to do lunch and catch up. I know a fabulous place called the Rainbow Cafe. Have you heard of it? I'll be at the hospital tomorrow so I'll come find you. Give Elaina a big love for me.
Love, Sara
