Gotta be kidding!

I will never learn. I must not ever say the word "home". I must not even spell it out.
Today Elaina spiked another fever!!! This is the highest one in awhile, 40.1 (aka 104). Nothing is helping bring it down. We've been giving her Tylenol, setting her on ice packs, you name it, and the fever stays up. It's gone as low as 102, but not down to normal for any extended period of time. Poor baby. When her temperature is up, so is her heart rate and she is just plain miserable. So, here's the worry: we think her broviac line might be the source of the fever. If it's infected, I just don't know what we'll do. The strongest antibiotics are IV, and if we pull the line, there is no guarantee that we can get IV access. She's such a hard poke....
Anyway, I'm once again discouraged as home feels like it's slowly slipping out of my grasp....

Keeping you in my prayers for this fever to go down, and ease the burden on Elaina's little heart.
Praying you will all be home together soon.

Okay, you need to have a chat with that little beauty! Tell her that she can't keep throwing these curve balls when the "H" word is mentioned or comes close!

Know that we're always praying that she continues to hold her ground & then improve! Praying for healing, strength & peace for you all!

Lots of Love! (& hugs, too!)

Isn't it hard not to get discouraged at this point? Remember who is ultimately in control. Don't be afraid to talk and think about coming home. Have you told Elaina how great it is going to be? Hold tight!!

Oh sweet Elaina...
Hollie...just scoop her up and take her home. That's the ONLY way that she's going to stay fever free....too many germs in the hospital.
Has Dr. Z heard anything from Stanford (or have they even sent all of her records yet??)
We will keep you guys in our prayers..stay strong!! Our blueberry princess is always surprising us...she just needed a little extra attention this weekend (was there a cute resident on call this weekend or something??)
Love,
kathy

I have been following your journey and am so sorry that you were not able to go home today. I hate those fevers-my son is still fighting them and it stinks. We were sent home with them after everything was cultured about 10 times!!!

Praying that there is no infection and for no more setbacks for Elaina.

The little turkey!! She must like all of the attention that she gets up there. I am sure that EVERYONE must be head over heels in love with her by now!! I know she had me at first sight!!

We will be sending lots and lots of coming home vibes your way, and as always you are in our prayers.

We will be up there on the 28th for Rhett's spinal surgery, and although I hope you are not there, but home loving on your little one, we will say hi if you are.

Loves to you guys,

Pam and Rhett
